The Center Welcomes The Escondido Children’s Museum

ESCONDIDO, CA (December 6, 2002) The California Center for the Arts, Escondido announces the Escondido Children’s Museum is planning to move to The Center’s campus. The new facility for the Museum will be located in Studio One, which is a 2,200 square-foot room, with an adjacent 2,000 square-foot patio area. A lease agreement between the Escondido Children's Museum, the City of Escondido and The Center will be considered at the City Council meeting on December 11, 2003.

The Escondido Children’s Museum plans to move into their new home in March 2003 and open its doors to the public by the summer of 2003. The Escondido Children’s Museum will join current Center tenants including Greene Music, Lisette’s Dance Studio and the San Diego North Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Since September 2001, the Escondido Children's Museum has operated out of a storefront at 156 W. Grand Avenue in downtown Escondido. The hours in the current location are 10AM to 5PM Tuesdays and Fridays, and noon to 4PM Saturdays. For more information, please call (760) 233-7755 or visit www.escondidochildrensmuseum.org.
