The Center Welcomes The Escondido Children’s Museum

ESCONDIDO, CA (December 6, 2002) The California Center for the Arts, Escondido announces the Escondido Children’s Museum is planning to move to The Center’s campus. The new facility for the Museum will be located in Studio One, which is a 2,200 square-foot room, with an adjacent 2,000 square-foot patio area. A lease agreement between the Escondido Children's Museum, the City of Escondido and The Center will be considered at the City Council meeting on December 11, 2003.

The Escondido Children’s Museum plans to move into their new home in March 2003 and open its doors to the public by the summer of 2003. The Escondido Children’s Museum will join current Center tenants including Greene Music, Lisette’s Dance Studio and the San Diego North Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Since September 2001, the Escondido Children's Museum has operated out of a storefront at 156 W. Grand Avenue in downtown Escondido. The Children's Museum was incorporated in January of 2001. The mission of the Escondido Children's Museum/Museo para Niños is to build creative minds in children through innovative and interactive exhibits and programs that celebrate family, a diverse society and the natural world.

Located in North San Diego County at 340 North Escondido Boulevard in Escondido, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido is accessible by major interstate highways.
